This site is the collective effort of over 25 photographers from over 14 states in the US and Canada.

These images are intended to show the wildlife that is endangered by the current uncontrolled development going on in Brevard County on Florida's Space Coast.

Fifty of these images will be displayed at a photo exhibit and sale on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Lagoon House in Palm Bay at 3275 Dixie Hwy, Palm Bay, FL 32905 (E. of of US 1)

All proceeds will go to the Marine Resources and to continue an environmental scholarship at the University of Central Florida.

The purpose of this exhibit is to show the beauty of our wildlife and to demonstrate that it is something worthy preserving. We could very well lose these gifts from nature unless future development considers its impact on our environment and wildlife. Once we lose these gifts it is permanent, and we won’t be able to get them back.

We also hope to show that preserving Brevard’s wildlife makes good sense economically as well as ecologically. Many of the contributing photographers came to Brevard County from other states and Canada. They came here because of the opportunities Brevard currently affords to view our wildlife. They stayed in our hotels/motels, ate in our restaurants and shopped in our stores. They were part of the close to one million visitors a year that visit Brevard County attracted by our wildlife areas and to make use of our fishing, hunting, and boating areas. Eco-tourism is one of the strongest segments of Florida’s economy.

A big thank you goes out to Smugmug for the free website and printing they are supplying. Our thanks also go to the Titusville Art League,http://www.nbbd.com/godo/tal/ , for the loan of their display panels for the exhibit.
